Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad created history during the 8th game of IPL 2024 at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium by posting the highest-ever total of 277/3 against Mumbai Indians. Each batter in their batting lineup went berserk on the Mumbai bowlers. First Travis Head played a blitz of 62 runs in 24 balls, followed by Abhishek Sharma’s insane 63 off 23 balls. Then the finishing touch was given by Protea charismatic batsman Henrich Klassen who destroyed the opponent bowlers with 80 in 34 balls, adorned with 7 sixes and 4 fours. In the end, SRH won the game by 31 runs.

Royal Challengers Bangalore 

The team that has not had the privilege to lift the IPL trophy yet, Royal Challengers Bangalore holds the record for the 2nd highest score in IPL by a team. The day was 23rd April 2013, RCB faced Pune Warriors India in a group game in the Chinnaswamy stadium. Little did PWI know that they were gonna hit by a massive Gayle storm as the Southpaw played a rampage knock of 175* off 66 balls with the help of 17 sixes and AB De Villiers also chipped in with 31 off 8 balls to take RCB to 263/5. Bangalore won the match by a huge margin of 130 runs on account of hostile bowling by the bowlers. 

Lucknow Super Giants 

The new addition to the IPL, Lucknow Super Giants stands 3rd on the elite list of the highest IPL score by a team. LSG registered 257 with the loss of 5 wickets against Punjab Kings in the 2023 IPL at IS Bindra stadium. The credit for this number goes to the complete team effort of LSG batters where Kyle Mayers and Marcus Stoinis hit quick fifties and the Badoni-Pooran duo added 40s apiece to touch the record score. Yash Thakur’s 4 wickets and Afghan pacer Naveen Ul Haq’s 3 wickets restricted PKBS to 201 runs and LSG came out victorious by 56 runs.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

The team with the star-studded batting lineup, Royal Challengers Bangalore again finds themselves in 3rd position on the highest score in IPL by a team tally, with 248 runs. Batting first RCB lost their opener Chris Gayle, but skipper Virat Kohli and AB De Villiers made sure to do the job of whacking the Gujarat Lions bowlers in every corner of the ground. Virat hit a sensational 109 off 55 balls while AB scored a magnificent unbeaten 129 in 52 balls to put the three-figure runs on board. Except for Ravindra Jadeja, every bowler of the now-annihilated Gujarat Lions team leaked runs above an economy rate of 10. 

Chennai Super Kings 

MS Dhoni-led 4 four times IPL Champions, Chennai Super Kings barely misses any record list in the T20 extravaganza. During the 3rd edition of the IPL in 2010, Chennai Super Kings accumulated 246/4 runs against the maiden IPL champions Rajasthan Royals with the assistance of opener Murali Vijay’s 127 off 56 balls and all-rounder Albie Morkel’s 62 off 34 deliveries. On the pursuit of 247 runs, Rajasthan Royals toiled hard with the bat, wicket-keeper Naman Ojha made 94 in 55 balls, and overseas star Shane Watson lent his support with 60 off 25 balls. However, their hard work went in vain as RR fell short by 23 runs at the end. 

Kolkata Knight Riders

The two time IPL winner, Kolkata Knight Riders is featured in the 6th spot on the honorable list of the highest score in IPL by a team. The special moment for the KKR came against Punjab Kings in 2018 when they posted 245 runs in the 1st innings, thanks to the 75 off 36 balls of opener Sunil Narine, 50 in 23 balls from captain Dinesh Karthik, and small blitzes from other batters who all went berserk on a bowling group made of Andrew Tye, Mohit Sharma, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Axar Patel, and Ravi Ashwin to script history.
