ROHIT SHARMA HIT JOINT FASTEST 100 IN T20 CRICKET ONTHIS DAY IN 2017
On this day in 2017, Rohit Sharma hit joint fastest 100 in T20 in Indore against Sri Lanka. He amassed 118 off just 43 balls, smashing the bowlers of Lanka all around the park. “Hitman” reached the milestone of 100 runs in just 35 balls.
Earlier the record was of David Miller, who hit the century in 35 balls against Bangladesh in Potchefstroom on 29th October, in 2017.
Rohit smacked 12 sixes and 10 fours in his innings of 118. Sharma seemed completely ruthless on that day to the Lankan bowlers. Every Lankan bowler conceded 12 runs per over on average. Rohit made the ton in the 12th over of the match.
KL Rahul also didn’t miss the opportunity to echo Rohit Sharma. Rahul played a quickfire knock of 89 off 49 balls with a strike rate of 181.63. Rohit and Rahul’s spectacular innings helped India to post a mammoth score of 260 in 20 overs. Sri Lanka could only score 172 runs, India had a thumping victory over Sri Lanka by 88 runs.
