Chetan Sharma-Chairperson of the New Selection committee of BCCI
Former Indian cricketer Chetan Sharma became the new chairperson of the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) selection committee on Wednesday, December 24th in the AGM (Annual General Meeting) in Ahmedabad.
Chetan Sharma is famous for being the first Indian bowler to take a hat-trick in ODI cricket, he took the hat-trick in the 1987 world Cup against New Zealand. Sharma will supersede current Chairman Sunil Joshi.
The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) interviewed 13 contenders for the BCCI new selection committee. The CAC was made of 3 persons RP Singh, Madan Lal, and Sulakshana Naik. Ex fast bowler Debasish Mohanty and Abbey Kuruvilla are also a part of the new 5 members selection committee. Nayan Mongia, Maninder Singh, Ajit Agarkar were also among the interviewees. Ajit Agarkar was giving tough competition to all but unfortunately, the CAC decided to go with Sharma, Mohanty & Abbey.
