1. Brett Lee was born in Wollongong, Australia on 8th November 1976 to his father Bob, a metallurgist, and mother Helen Buxton (a piano teacher). 

2. Lee has 2 siblings- younger brother Grant Lee played U-19 cricket for New South Wales and elder brother Shane Lee represented Australia in 45 ODIs. 

3. Beginning his professional cricket for Oak Flats Rats, he played first-grade cricket for Campbelltown at the age of 16 after a good show in his first club.

4. Lee’s nickname is “Binga”. During the early stage of his career, Steve Waugh used to call him “Oswald”.

5. Brett Lee made his first appearance in first-class cricket in Sheffield Shield for New South Wales against Western Australia, returned with 3/114 in the match. Former Australian cricketer Tom Moody was also one of his victims in that match.

6. In the 1999-2000 domestic season, Lee grabbed 8 wickets in matches, which captivated the captain of New South Wales, Steve Waugh. He ended up making his test debut against India.
